Alicia Berry - 2009-2010 PHBA Youth President

Hi y’all!

I hope everyone is doing well and school is going good! Just think, not too much longer and you will be getting a break! I know I am looking forward to a break and some good food with that break! I have many things to be thankful for in my life. As Thanksgiving is getting closer, I really start thinking about how much I have been blessed. I want you all to think about it for a little while and write down what you are thankful for in your life. If you are thankful for family or friend, tell them you are. Let them know how important they are to you. Cherish every day you have with them and let them know every chance you get how much you care for them.

As the year is coming to an end and some of you are getting ready to hang up the reins for a little while, check out the palomino horseshow schedule and go for another little trip. Call your friends and y’all meet up at a show and have some fun. Going to horseshows is my absolute

favorite thing to do. Not only do I get to show my horse all weekend, but I also get to be around great people. I have made many friends that I will cherish forever at horseshows.

I still encourage everyone to email me ideas or concerns about the Youth World Show or just the Youth Association in general. I want to knowwhat y’all think because if y’all do not speak up with ideas we, as the youth board, will not know what y’all want or do not want. I know I will not be able to please everyone, but I want to try and “break even” and come up with ways that will, hopefully, make showing enjoyable and make it feel worth it.

I wish everyone good luck with shows and with school. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday!

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” -- Melody Beattie

Hope to see you down the road soon!
