Message from the President
On behalf of your Executive Board (EB), I wish to provide the following statements to help everyone understand and feel comfortable after seeing the recent confusing Facebook conversations.
The EB has been working diligently for several years to obtain bids from suitable, cost-effective locations. This has been a slow and tedious process. There are many necessary details to be considered. The “wish” list has been made up of input from the membership. This “wish” list includes, safe location for exhibitors and staff, safe footing and stalls for the horses, vet services, enough RV hookups, nearby hotels, restaurants, and other activities, to name a few.
The EB has made site visits to many locations across the country to determine that “ideal” location and has reviewed all detailed statistics to help make an appropriate and knowledgeable decision. While some locations seemed to “have it all”, they did not have appropriate dates or their costs were not in line with our budget. Others fell within our budget, but did not have appropriate dates and fell short on providing our “wish” list of requirements.
The final choice will be shared with the membership as soon as a contract is negotiated and signed.
